
Lambertine THONET-XHAUFFLAIRE. Born on 4 November 1863, of German origin, was baptised in 1897 or 1898 as the first Adventist in Belgium. Together with her husband Pierre-Joseph THONET and her mother-in-law Marie-Joseph THONET. They were originally part of a group of Baptists in the Liège area until they were converted by the Swiss missionary Charles AUGSBURGER. As Belgium did not have any ordained pastors yet, she was finally baptised by the Swiss pastor Jacques ERZENBERGER. In 1899 she together with 10 other baptised people formed the first Adventist church in Jemeppe. On 26 July 1954 she passed away in the expectation of the Lord at the age of 90.
